Steve & Hunter NWBB Team #255

Collars of Care and Leashes of Love

I decided to try out Hunter’s new pinch collar. It’s a tool to guide him more effectively, especially when he becomes stubborn or distracted.

I guide and instruct Hunter, keeping an eye on him and showing him the way. But when he becomes obstinate, disobedient, or loses focus, I correct him.

Most of the time, we do well. When there are no distractions or temptations, he doesn’t need a leash or collar. But just in case, I place a collar around his neck and keep him on a leash when we’re around others. If it were just Hunter and me, we’d need neither collar nor leash. I lead, and he follows, most of the time. I know Hunter needs exercise, discipline, and affection. I provide his food, water, grooming, and security. He trusts me; he knows I love him.

In the same way, God guides and instructs me. He watches over me and shows me The Way. But when I become obstinate, disobedient, or distracted, He corrects me.

Father,
Thank You for Your promise to guide and teach us. We ask for Your wisdom and direction in every step we take. Help us to trust Your loving watch over us and to follow Your Way with willing hearts. Keep us from stubbornness, Lord, and make us humble and open to Your guidance.

Lead us, protect us, and let us walk in a way that honors You. We pray this for ourselves and for our loved ones. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
